Vexed - Series 1 Page 3

The storylines are implausible and threadbare to say the least and everything hinges on the screwball comedy chemistry of the two leads. This might get a bit tiring as the dialogue is not as sharp and funny as it could be and Toby Stephens' character seems very limited.

Lucy Punch (phwooar) is extremely good and like the running joke with the café owner who always catches her out on a 'cause I'm black' wind up.

She's in Woody Allen's latest movie as well.

I enjoyed this week's eppy.
It is growing on me.

I liked it! I like Toby Stephens a lot, and Lucy Punch was great too. She really reminded me of someone, but I can't think who. The only part I didn't like was when the guy in the cafe kept winding her up - that got tiresome really quickly.

Shame there was only three episodes. Is it true that the company that made it have gone bust? I guess there won't be any more then.

Vexed is undoubtedly one of the best programmes to be aired in a very long time. The characters are amusingly different and I cannot believe anyone could criticise such a brilliant series. Please Beeb bring it back ASAP!

I saw all three episodes and thought it was really good. Although I like Toby Stevens, his voice was very mid-Atlantic.

It did, however, feel like the writer wanted to make an American remake, and made the BBC version as an example to show US executives.

Again, pity it was only three episodes. It was funny, had a bit of action. One problem, of course, was the fact that in all three eps, the culprit only appeared in one scene before turning up in the denoucement.

I won't watch it, another show that stole one of my titles, one incidentally I had already discarded as being 2nd rate, so what does that make this show, imo?

I thought Vexed was sensationally good. The two leads had incredible chemistry and "Jack Armstrong" is just one of the best comedy characters created in a long time. The Beeb have had a good little run lately with this, Grandma's House, Great Outdoors and Rev. Vexed tops the pile though. It does an excellent job of developing the characters, running several story strands simultaneously and being incredibly funny.

The weakest part is obviously the police stuff. If, like me, you are a fan of Frost, Morse, etc then it doesn't even come close.

Only recently watched this. I really loved it. Much more than I expected to. Both the leads were really likeable.

?

I have a half-baked theory that the Main Guy isn't actually a copper.

Good call :) Even though the leads' names were Jack and Kate and nicked obviously from an obscure detective novel series.

:O

Sue!

(Was there a Sue?)

Like most here I didn't have much hope for this but really liked it. I agree with whoever said the plots weren't great. I think they were meant to be light and fluffy rather than deep and meaningful. Anyway- I liked it :)

And she had amazing legs. Even I noticed!
