Recording Voice in MP3

Sorry for keep asked dumpf**knumpty questions about computer stuff but it is not my strongest suit.

I am wanting to record my voice - exciting stuff I hear you call.

I'm then wanting to upload it onto a website and also be able to send the file via email and burn to CD if required.

So the website requires an MP3 file.

What do people use. The simple voice recorder is not MP3, the windows movie maker is something else I've downloaded Audicity and then it doesn't allow you to export to MP3. I have tried a converter but that put an advert on the front.

What do people use?

Or, as I guess, am I being a dumpf**knumpty? :(

EDIT:

Maybe this is what you need.

Hi Bigfella, how long is the sound file? A free copy of Cool Edit Pro will save the first 10 seconds of an MP3 file. Alternatively try this Free MP3 recorder.

Web pages are not restricted to MP3 format (however it is probably the best) you can use other formats. Have Google about.

Cheers All.
