Does anyone fancy reading a thirty page script?

I was wondering if someone could read one of my scripts. The script in question has been written by me. I have managed to get a further extension to my MA course, because there is half a chance I am a swine flu outcast.

It means I have three scripts I've written to a level I'm failry happy with, though, I've not had any time to reflect on them and would love it if one of you would read one of them as I can then improve them for when I've got to hand them in.

I would naturally be very grateful to any volunteers.

Kevin Murphy has already read one of them so I can't ask him again.

I know this is cheeky but I've decided to add another post so it moves up the thread list gives people their democratic right of seeing this and thinking should I help him?

This is partly a form of procrastination but any help would be welcome. Thank you.

The internet, in its wisdom, long ago decided upon a syllable for what you just described: "Bump".

I'll give it a read if you like, it won't be straight away though, but I can hopefully get some feedback to you within a couple of days if that's alright?

why don't you just be post it in critique? like a normal person.

That's a good point, actually.

In that way, you'll get a variety of opinions rather than just one.

I tell you - it's bloody hard work editing a lengthy script and, at the end of the day, you never know whether all your hard work is going to please the writer or the script's intended audience.

Not long ago, I worked my wotsits off editing and polishing a sitcom for somebody. When it was finished and gleaming like a diamond (a very funny diamond!), I took it straight to the upper echelons of the BBC . . . where it was immediately deemed to be a pile of poo.

There's no accounting for taste. :D

The advantage of posting stuff in Critique is that you catch the passing trade. I never volunteer to read stuff, because a proper edit takes time, and I do not want to tie myself down. If people come to me and ask me, I may do so, but it depends on time, mood etc. But often I am just putting off work, so if there is a script in Critique I will take a look at it as a displacement activity.

I got one very helpful volenteer in Marc P who I am very grateful to and as usual gave me some brilliant advice on how to improve it so thank you once again.

Yes, I have posted some stuff in critique and will do so again. I put a bit from a death bed sitcom I wrote but so far it's only had one response, I am guessing people are put off by the theme. https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/15539
