New competition - win £1,431 & get on Dave TV

Climate change campaign website Together.com has launched a new comedy competition with a chance to win £1,431. Why 1,431 pounds? Because that's what the average person can save following their energy saving tips. The winning videos will also be given a spot on Dave, the digital TV channel.

To enter you have to create a comedy sketch based around the number 1431. They've got comedians like Fergus Craig, Cardinal Burns and Ricky Grover to create some example videos to give you an idea of the sort of thing they're looking for: http://www.youtube.com/whatsfunnyabout1431

To enter you have to send them your video by 29th November. Once you've filmed it, send your video to their YouTube channel, attached to a message, and they'll add you to their favourites. A panel of experts will then choose the winners at the end of the competition.

For more info see www.together.com

(There's also a general public competition with another £1,431 prize, plus Bassment Jaxx tickets, England tickets etc. To enter that competition all you have to do is vote for your favourite of their pro videos: http://www.together.com/whatsfunnyabout1431)

1431, hmm might be tricky. What do others think, has this got comic potential?

Its tough isn't it - but I guess that means there's not going to be much competition (e.g. more chance of winning).

Check out the 10 preview videos they've made here to see examples of the number incorporated into sketches: http://www.youtube.com/whatsfunnyabout1431

Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in 1431.
There's got to be some energy-related gags in that.

That's right she was, I wonder if the executioners put some sausages on the fire, or brewed up some tea (yes I know tea hadn't been invented yet) - that would have been very energy saving.

That's just gone half past two. As the players are warming up on a saturday afternoon maybe.

I wouldn't mind writing something but I'm buggered if I can film it.

I'm in the kind of trailer for this (the one intervewing people on the street).

Think that rules me out of the competition. The hate comments on YouTube are pretty funny!

Think my favs are Haunted House and Mastermind ones.

I liked the first half of "Mastermind: Questions That Have the Number 1431 as the Answer."

14:31 the time
1431 the year
1431 the crowd at an Accrington Stanley match
Ticket No.1431 in Argos
"One for free, Juan."

The possibilities are endless... Errr

...or the number of people who are proud to British these days. BTW may I ask what you were doing to make your cat so alarmed? Or shouldn't I?

This is cetainly an interesting one. I'll give this one a go me thinks.

1,431 pounds - the weight of Britains fattest man or rate per minute of a Barclays "wealth-creator" - the decision is yours.

Vlad III the Impaler,(inspiration for Dracula) Wallachian prince born 1431 died. 1476)
Thought that might have some scope.

Now all I need to do is incorporate this 31" high plant stand with 14" basket into the equation and I'm a sure fire winner.

This beautiful Chelsea 31-Inch High Plant Stand With 14-Inch Basket would make an attractive addition to your garden.
