Wash your mouth out!!
Was the BEST decade ever!

Okay you probably don't remember the 70s, but even the 90s was better, culturally at least, than the cheesy 80s.

Yes, it was!
I was a kid in the '80s so looooooved it. I guess maybe if you were a teenager or older it might have felt completely different, cheesy, rubbish, etc.
But for a kid, the TV, films and all that were fecking unbeatable.

Yes, yes, yes, and more yes!
I agree. You can't beat crap 80s TV and cartoons for pure entertainment value!
Noooo Andrea. It's NOT crap!
And transformers were transformers in thems days, and made noises when they changed, which they just don't do any more
And why did they forget all about the mobile armoured strike kommand?

Sorry. Crap was too strong a word. I actually feel very fortunate to have grown up in the 80s. I loved Transformers and He-Man. I just look at what entertained me then and what my kids find entertaining now and some of my stuff seems kind of shitty.

But the difference in the quality of toys...
Transformers now are cheap plastic that breaks easily where they used to be semi-cheap and weren't weren't that easy to break. Yes, I was completely obssessed with transformers (and mask)!
I was never really into He-Man though, though I did have a few figures.

No, you were right.

Kids cartoons these days are amazing compared to the stuff we grew up with; not just in terms of the quality of the writing and animation, but the expectations of the audience. The likes of He-Man and Transformers were cynical fomulaic crap intended to shift units to pester-power consumers. Nothing to be nostalgic about there.
I still have 2 transformers, yup!!
