Why does it matter? What have you got in mind?

:D

Just interested as Wikipedia and imdb haven't given any infomation.

Speaking of Robin Nedwell- I've just discovered that every episode of the 1990 revival of the Doctor series- Doctor at the Top- has all the episodes of it on YouTube. I've never seen it before.

I'm just rewatching this Jack Rosenthal creation again at the minute. I think it is one of the forgotten gems of British sitcom, great dialogue and great performances by Richard Beckinsale and Paula Wilcox. Though not up there with Beckinsale's other triumphs, Porridge and Rising Damp, it is still top stuff. There was even a semi regular role in it for Doctor In The House star Robin Nedwell. But yes, I think it's great stuff.

Always imagined it to be some forgotten piss poor ITV sit-com but after seeing a clip and Jack Rosenthal interview on a prgramme about Richard Beckinsale this summer I also thought it look really witty well wrtten dialogue. Always liked Rosenthal since watching the Knowledge as a kid.

No, she only appeared in one episode. Lipman was the real life wife of creator Jack Rosenthal.

I quite enjoyed the episode with Maureen Lipman.

Don't know if any of you recognised the actor who played Maureen Lipman's husband in that episode, but I remember him from playing a barrister in the very popular drama series of early 1970s 'Crown Court'.

Has anyone seen the film version?

I note with great amusement that each episode on the Network-issued DVD, has a horrendous modern Granada credit screen at the end: "A Granada production for Channel Four".

Yes, that would be famous ITV sitcom The Lovers, made for Channel 4 more than 12 years before it launched.

Biggest VT library vanity fail ever.

I've been watching 'The Lovers' recently, even though it is rather dated it has a certain charm about it. I was rather amused when the boom mic would sometimes appear on screen. I loved the chemistry between Richard Beckinsale and Paula Wilcox.

The movie is up for a long, long overdue DVD release in June. It's pretty good, but a bit of a restarting of the tale. Well worth getting if you enjoyed the TV series though.

Is the movie rare Aaron?

It is until Monday 24th June.

Was you a big fan Aaron?

Not a 'big' fan, but I do like the sitcom.

I thought it was an amazing sitcom. :)

And great to see Paula Wilcox in her prime.
