Why is Chlamydia the only STD that comedians ever seem to talk about?

Topicality, like the cream for it. And clap jokes are just embarassing if nobody does clap the jokes.
Also it almost has a glamourous chavvy type name.

"The clap" is a term for Gonorrhea, NOT Chlamydia.
Sorry if I killed the thread with this! But if you guys are refering to clap jokes, you need to change the title of the thread!
It's one of the commonest STDs, the name's well-known and it doesn't have the same depressing connotations as stuff such as HIV, I suppose.
Plus, a lot of stand-ups are lazy, ignorant hacks. 
Herpes though are quite popular in humour too.

I would never call Bussell lazy. If anything he's too busy.
Plus the other reason stand-ups mention it a lot is because most of them have it.

I know but it seemed reasonable to reference another STD in a thread asking about referencing other STDs.

I think Afinkawan was saying that clap/gonorrhea jokes are not popular compared to chlamydia ones.
