How many other shows do you know that had a 3 month break in the middle of one series?

Lost.

Eureka had a break of 10 months half way through season three. :$ And South Park 6 months.

And The Office has long breaks during it's seasons too.

There was a time when I was called that every day at work (in the right voice as well) by all the anaesthetic assistants I worked with. Bit disconcerting for the patients, but there you go. :D

:D Did you have a pet turkey too? "Gooobbles!!"

It'll be interesting to see if this series feels dated at all, as obviously it was conceived during the height of the New Labour reign of terror. That said I guess David Cameron/Andy Coulson are pretty much the bargain basement version of Blair and Campbell.

I love this show, the inventiveness of the swearing is a real treat as well as the conflicts. Hurrah! I say.

The Thick of It interview has now been published.

Armando says:
"New series of Thick of It starts on BBC2. Saturday 24th Oct, at 10.10pm. Will be repeated later each week on BBC FOUR."

To put a bit more context in the series 1/series 2 debate, I believe what actually happened was that Armando Iannucci was given some money by BBC Four to go make a pilot. He went away and made three episodes for the money he was given. So the first three episodes are really 'the pilot', if you like. Then, I guess they commissioned 'the series', which was only really three more episodes, as three had been filmed.

Dan

I've been watching the first series DVD again to get in the mood for this series. It's still brilliant!

One extra that unfortunately wasn't in the series was Jamie fantastically berating someone in his own inimitable way:

"... cos I'll rip your head off and shit down the hole in your neck! Then I'll put your head back on!! Then I'll shit on that!!!"

:D

Awesome! I'm so excited about the new series, I've used italics for emphasis!

Laughing out loud

Armando just tweeted:

"Will be leaving day job at BBC after Thick Of It. Love Beeb like a pesky brother so will be back no doubt. Next, tho' is a comedy for HBO"

I heard somewhere they are re-doing the American version of it, with him at the helm. Though it will be set in the Treasury, rather than with the same cast of In The Loop.

Hopefully, this is not the end for The Thick Of It.
