Virtually all the comedians I know are atheists... Page 9

Most of the comedians I know are satanists.

But then I am the pope of the satanic church of comedy.

Speaking of popes, did Popetown suck or what? I bought the DVD a couple of years ago because it looked fun, but upon watching it discovered it was a crock.

More on topic, South Park creator Trey Parker is not an atheist. Neither is Jerry Seinfeld (I think).

I know a Quantum Physicist who is a Christian. It is possible to be both.

A Quantum Christian, does this involve locking him in a box with a cat?

I believe in whoever it was that created God. And I think it was us.

:)

I'd never noticed the amount of atheist comics but it's a fair point. Not sure if that's not just a reflection of their background; liberal, white, degree educated, urban, North Europeans who are probably the least religious socio-economic group in the world.
Attacking religion these days has lost its power and become a little tedious as he is not the powerful social force it once was, when Dave Allen was poking fun at religion he was someone who had grown up in Eire in the 50s where the church was a very dominant Conservative force in society.

The cat is both dead and born again.

I thought it was banned I saw bits. It suffered from too high a concept, e.g. most good comedy comes from a simple situation with good characters/dialogue.

Yes, although there was still fun had at the expense of The Church as recently as Father Ted.

Very debateable.

Oh, look, Tony Blair's about to become president of Europe.

What about American Jewish comedians? A lot of them are very good and they're not atheists.

Well, they probably are, but they pretend to be worshippers because a lot of deals are done outside the synagogue. Oh no, I've said to much.

Was life horrible and barbaric and cruel before Christianity? Yes. Was it horrible, barbaric and cruel after Christianity? Yes. Did the Holy Roman Empire unite Europe as one, thus creating the template for the modern Western World? I'm gonna go for yes.

Besides, if you do any proper research, you'd know that Isaac Newton was making human sacrifices to Baal in exchange for his evil science powers and that the dinosaurs snuffed it because there wasn't room for them on the Ark.

Inside the Synagogue thankyou! What do you think we are barbarians?

But mostly they're "cultural" rahter than "religious Jews". I dunno we rule the world and have to amuse you feckless goyim as well.

The only outwardly well known US Jewish comic I know of is Adam Sandler...God help us.

It's actually called the Purple Rose of Prose.
