Heard this on the wireless this morning:

Not heard it before. Which led me to investigate and found this CD on the likes of Amazon & Ebay for just two or three pounds. Some interesting tracks on there:

Gentle erotic comedy (that'll get a few more to listen)

It's only in recent years that I got the line in Ernie.

She said she'd like to bathe in milk, he said, "All right, sweetheart,"
And when he'd finished work one night he loaded up his cart.
He said, "D'you want it pasturize? 'Cause pasturize is best,"
She says, "Ernie, I'll be happy if it comes up to my chest."

Dave has led a very sheltered life.

Actually he first tried out that line in 1961 in Gather in the Mushrooms (one minute in):

Yes - all in the collection. I'm in need of a trip to IKEA for some new shelves...

This is #goals.

Jim Dale's take on the Lonnie Donegan hit, Rock Island Line:

Yes, Jim Dale had a very short pop star life, and I remember his gimmick was a little giggle at the end of some lines, at which the girls would scream, when he was on "6:5 Special" or "Oh Boy!"

I have a couple of 78s of his somewhere
