Frankie say Relax (2009 remix) - heaven or hell? Page 3

:O

I thought Turning Japanese was totally innocent. Come to think of it I've never listened to the lyrics.

You probably think Dancing With Myself by Billy Idol is about dancing alone as well. Oh poor Chappers, I don't want to shatter your fragile innocence.

There was a lyric in a New Order song Perfect Kiss that goes 'playing with my pleasure zone'. BBC didn't ban that reference to masturbation

Did it ever get played though?

I know about Secret Smile though.

Semisonic.

Well 'When I'm Cleaning Windows' by George Formby was basically smut when you think about it. But apparently that's OK to play to children. Unimpressed

It didn't make the Top40 but I have heard it on Radio 1 a few times

It's about the propensity of Asian women to dance by themselves, especially when there are mirrors so that they can stare at themselves, in nightclubs.

Oh no, they've taken a 20+ year old gay disco song about men coming on each other and re-mixed it. Oh no, what were they thinking? Etc.

I'm longing for a re-release of Elton Motello's Jet Boy Jet Girl, which is now 31 years old. Such great lyrics: "I'd like to hit him on the head until he's dead. The sight of blood is such a high. He gives me head..." etc. Dull trivia: Elton Motello's drummer Nobby Goff later covered Jet Boy Jet Girl with a completely new title and lyrics (gibberish Belgian) and released it under his alias Plastic Bertrand.

I love that song. Got 7" vinyl. And the record.

It was free with some album I got in the late 70s/early 80s. Can't remember what though. It went on for about 10 minutes.

I was a teen when this came out and at the time it was a big deal. I loved the original 12" version and this doesn't add anything for me but if the young 'uns like it fair enough.

I miss 12" singles! I miss singles for that matter. Bah humbug.

Jx

I know no bounds.

best 12" of two tribes IMO - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39RVS0-w-gk

I don;t like this new version of Relax - they've turned into a cheesy euro dance track. It would sound brilliant with an industrial remix.

This song has great comedic value. I think that's about it.
