I don't believe any of these books are for real. Both seem a bit fishy to me.

I was just thinking of asking for the first two volumes of Michael Palin's diaries.

I've read the first volume. Fun, entertaining and informative. Amusing anecdotes include Terry Jones unwittingly causing Jilly Cooper to get snubbed at a book signing. Lacks the haughty tone of the Kenneth Williams Diaries and the queer sex in public toilets of the Joe Orton Diaries.

How'd he gets his own colouring book?! - that bloody Michael McIntyre is everywhere these days!

The first volume (the only one I've read) I found incredibly dull. "Then we went and recorded the next series of Python, which was nice. I ate some scones, they were lovely." Adore his comedy work, but he's not an entertaining diarist.

I love his scriptwriting. Does he give recipes for the scones?

Fair shake of the old salt shaker. He's a nice guy and that comes through in his diaries. And the Flying Circus series years take up only about the first 20% of the book. Agony and angst it isn't, but it's pleasant reading and plenty of entertaining bits.
