Meh. This show seems to be getting lots of positive feedback despite being mostly a horrific mess.

This show doesn't seem to know exactly what the hell the it IS. It's as if they WANTED to do a mockumentary, but only told two or three members of the cast, and the rest are acting as if it's a regular sitcom filmed in front of a live, studio audience.

Perhaps if they remind the cast that they're not doing panto. Either that or scrap the "to-camera" bits. You can't just shoehorn those cutaways into f**king... Cheers or something, and claim it's "in the mockumentary style" The US Office plays fast and loose with the definition, but at least it's f**king consistent with it.

The "to the camera" bits are my only problem with this show, they just seem so unnecessary, it should just be a straight up sitcom.

But hey, this show makes me laugh a lot and that's what I mainly want out of a sitcom, so it's winning for me on that point.

for something so commercial, this is rather excellent. I will keep watch.

I like it :) Another solid episode.

It's pretty good. I'll stick with it.

I'm really enjoying this, very funny and lots of different jokes. Sometimes the plots are a bit predictable and contrived but the comedy along the way make it worthwhile.

I've grown to really love this series, how about everyone else? They had a repeat for some reason the other night instead of a new episode but the mix of characters and situations has kept it fresh and fast-paced.

I should hate it. I can't help but find myself watching it though. Still not incredibly funny all the time just nice to watch and amusing throughout.

Watched one episode. Thought it was very meh.

"Community" on the other hand is very funny.

I'm puzzled by how praised this one is. The comparisons to Arrested Development only hurt it.

It's a bit of a celebration of something good over the majority of stuff (which is mediocre to utter crap). It's good, but it's not that great. I agree about the complaints regarding the mockumentary style not really being utilized consistently. It's funny but it's not as funny as people seem to hail it as.

And I really dislike the way every episode has to end on a saccharine "family uber alles" message.

With all that said, I do enjoy watching. I like the inclusion of the gay couple, I love Manny the over-adult kid and I even find Phil the cringeworthy dad funny at times.

One episode is not enough to get into this as there are too many characters. I thought it was pretty average after one episode but the more you get into it the better it gets.

Also I can't believe the number of "I can't believe people think this is funny" posts that appear on every single thread for any sitcom. Its called having a different sense of humour. You might as well post "I can't believe people like U2" or "I can't believe people like the colour red."

Just watched the first episode, looks pretty funny, I'll stick with it. I liked the parents scheduling when to shoot their son in particular. Agree with what a few others have said though, I don't get why it's a mockumentary, it adds nothing. At least not in this episode.

The Christmas episode was great. I still have it on my DVR. I don't have a lot of interest in the granddad's new family, but the other two are fantastic. It's one of the few sitcoms I watch. :)

Five or so episodes in now; this show is really very good indeed. There are points where your buttocks clench as it threatens to dive headfirst into Mawkish Town (Or Scrubs-ville), but it always (so far) manages to pull itself back with something silly.
