Does Mr Superman have an English accent in the film?

No not really it's kind of generic accent. Henry Cavill is huge looks great

Ha, he is massive!
Russell Crowe seemed to have a generic accent too in the trailer.

Saw Man 'o Steel Friday, really liked it.

Still not made my mind up. It was full of action, and I felt my eyes had been battered by the end. And there wasn't much humour, like Nolan's Batman series. Still it was better than the last effort, and I thought Cavill was great.

It really doesn't draw me in.

I really liked the old films and the counterplay between Supes the uber mensch and the humour of goofy Clark Kent

That and Zod is a crap villain, the quality bad guy is Lex who represents humanity's response to the super natural

I think they should have saved Zod for the sequel. They should have had a baddie called Neil before Zod.

:D

Booyah!

I quite like Superman Returns with its kryptonite continent. It's a fun blockbuster that gets unfairly maligned.

You are, of course, completely wrong.

:D I'm for that.

Superman returns was a perfectly average movie. It's biggest fault was staying in the shadow of the previous films, it pandered and came across as a homage. Plus Lex Luthor on his own is a shit Superman movie villain.

Chip you have over stretched yourself it was turgid and silly.

That said Kevin Spacey was a most excellent Lex Luthor and every scene he was in was worth the price of admission.

I think the problem is the comics acknowledge quite how ridiculous Superman is.

As do the good films.

Superman Returns wasn't a classic, and indeed it was pretty stupid in places, yet it was strangely endearing nonetheless.

I shall correct myself! It got really good reviews when it came out. Deservedly so, despite the fact that it was too beholden to the earlier Christopher Reeve films. It's only the internet geekery that really took against it.

It was great, apart from it hardly having any action, a wooden star, and introducing a f**king superboy in the first film. You may as well have had Batmite or the Batdog in The Dark Knight Rises. It was never going to spawn a sequel.
