"Wreck it Ralf".
Some films are said to be like something else but 'on acid'. This film was like one of those, but on even more acid. Fantastic in all senses of the word, if you don't mind the seen-it-a-billion-times plot.
I've just seen... Page 346
Cell 211. Fantastic Spanish thriller about a prison guard who gets trapped in a prison during a riot, and has to pretend to be a prisoner in order to survive. Like a bleak Die Hard.
I don't know if you Brits know the Germans made a film about the Austrian girl that was kidnapped (a sexually abused) for 8 years. I've just seen a trailer for it and it looks like the main role is played by the actress who was Jack Dee's daughter in Lead Balloon. It's an international production, so it's realistic that it's her.
EDIT:
Ok, it is her, Antonia Campbell Hughes (on the right).
Looks like someone's got anorexia.
Zero-dark-thirty.
Whilst undoubtedly a brilliantly made film, it's pretty hard to swallow in it's pseudo-justification of torture and general flag-waving for the CIA.

I've not seen it yet, but I thought the film was ambiguous on the use of torture since the information that lead to Bin Laden didn't come from torture.

Exactement.
There is also a general feeling that the price for unprecedented CIA involvement in the production was a very pro-CIA piece.

But it makes that point in the film.
You may have a point about CIA involvement leading to a certain slant, although I guess that's the price you pay for access. Although like I say I've yet to see the film, and I do have enormous respect for Kathryn Bigelow as a director. So I'd be surpised if it was so black and white.

Watch it.
I'd be interested to know what you think.
And as I say it is a very well-made film.

Ouch. Maybe she had to lose a lot of weight for the part?
Is that the Fritzl case? Or another one.

No, this was the case (Natascha Kampusch case) that became public a few months before. Everyone thought "Wow, eight years...what a torture!" Then came Fritzl and pulverized everything.
The Hunger Games and actually quite enjoyed it. Wasn't too bothered about the bits outside of the actual "games" and would've wished it to be more gritty and possibly blood thirsty. But really enjoyed watching a female Rambo.
I don't know what the series holds but more time she spends in the dirt and shit, picking off bad guys with her bow and arrow the better.
Skyfall.
Quite exciting and all that (great opening titles BTW) but the story is all over the shop.
I don't like James Bond films you know he can't be killed and are so much of a franchise and brand that you can sense it more and more. Then to put the top hat on it they go and hire a Kopite to play Bond!

That's true of most action heroes, though. Indiana Jones, Bourne etc. In fact most main characters in films don't die. Unless it's a horror film.
The Master.
Epic performances , but I'm not sure I understood a word (literally in Joaquin's case).
