I loved the X-Men series. I thought it dealt with some pretty interesting and complex themes considering it was Saturday morning show. I found the Gambit/Rogue storylines particularly affecting. Gambit was always my fave. And it had a great titles sequence.

Ugh. Just remembered how they ruined Gambit in that shitty Wolverine movie.

(they're all on YouTube, by the way)

Wristcutters: A Love Story. Amiable indie comedy about a man who kills himself and winds up in a purgatory filled with other suicide victims. Nice portrait of the afterlife as like normal life, only slightly shitter.

The Cabin in the Woods

Wow

Josh Whedon rules the universe!

The Cabin in the Woods

Different, but ultimately pants.

The end is a bit soggy and like Buffy in a bad way.

But overall clever, original and funy.

Just saw the Star Trek: Into Darkness trailer. It's a big old pile of meh. Lots of 'splosions and Transformers type buggery going on with Sherlock blabbing all over it.

It looks like a good science fiction action movie - it don't look like no Star Trek film.

Just watching the frogmen a surprisingly exciting war film made in 1951 the fax must have been really dangerous

Killer Joe. Enjoyable, smutty little thriller with a great lead performance but a real cop-out ending.

Watched Teeth last night. Rrrrrubbish.

Is that the one where vaginas have teeth? I've seen that - it IS rubbish.

Shame when a documentary gets it wrong.

That's the one! I was expecting it to be funny and gross and scary, and it was just lame (and kind of weirdly anti-men.)

Shame when a documentary gets it wrong.

:O Laughing out loud

Nah, Teeth's not bad. Although it's never going to be great horror as there's a limit to how scary a teenage girl with teeth in her vagina can be. Unless she's a giant.

Imagine how great it could have been if Cronenberg had made it.

He'd never cheapen himself as he is a god

Pff, it's a great idea for a horror film! He'd be lucky to have thought of it.
