Do you wax your man-gina?

Hey, he makes fun films.

Hey, he makes fun films.

Fun is such a subjective word.

I will put that other suggestion on my list, ta!

If you want old, funny Sci Fi, you could try Dark Star. But I see the reviews rate it worse than my memory of it, so either they're wrong, or my memory's failing. Also, you're not my daughter, and the nurses are stealing my things.

'Films that people who aren't grumpy sour-pusses can enjoy'

'Films that only women and queers can enjoy'

Whistling nnocently

It doesn't make us sour-pusses just because we perversely enjoy mercilessly trashing reasonable movies.

I imagine you've seen the most recent Star Trek film, as that would prob fit the bill.

Yeah, I think this is the problem. I think I've watched my way through most of them. I watched all of the original cast movies too. Might have to move onto the Next Generation era films. I'm not a fan of the Borg.

Ooph, don't go there. It really isn't that good. Especially now it's dated so badly. It was groundbreaking at the time because of the use of everyday language and comedy, but is a struggle to watch now.

But I liked Spaceballs, so what the hell do I know? (weirdly, I didn't like it when I first saw it, but after repeat viewings, it grew on me)

The Borg-centric Next Gen film is the only decent one of their run of movies, I'm afraid.

I agree with Matt on this. The new Star Trek (JJ Abrhams) film is good in an explosion-y, shouty way and you're not feeling all let down at the end.

But nothing beats Wrath of Khan for pure enjoyment.

I know, this is why I've avoided them thusfar.

This is my favourite one.

They just don't make that many Starship Troopers-esque space set action movies; if you get a film set there it's more likely to be a horror type thing.

Yes! But Nimoy's The Search for Spock is my fave.

Good Star Trek films

Wrath of Khan (the daddy)
The Voyage Home
The Undiscovered Country
Generations (actually pretty good)
The One with the Borg
Star Trek

The Worst

Star Trek the Motion Picture
Quest for Peace (aka pensioners in space)
Nemesis (aka pensioners in space 2)

Honorable mention Galaxy Quest

KHAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well they're missing out. I want a jolly good spacey romp with lots of action, pacey dialogue and excellent makeup. The less CGI the better. Models always look better.

Yes! But Nimoy's The Search for Spock is my fave.

This is my second favourite.
