Sick

'56 Up', first programme (we've recorded them). My heart always goes out to the man who's now a lib dem councillor. Always wonder what really went wrong for him - he was such a sparkly wee boy. I think I first saw this when they were 28.

Monster. It's no Monsters but it's still pretty good. Although I did feel a bit sorry for poor old murderous Aileen Wuornos by the end.

Have you seen the Nick Broomfield documentaries about her?

Interesting you assume things have "gone wrong" for him. I guess that has been a theme of previous episodes, but I'm not sure it was with this one. Like most of them this time there were disappointments and regret but a bigger feeling of it all being okay - despite everything. That's what I thought anyway.

Though being a LibDem anything must be depressing right now.

Not yet, but I'll look out for them now.

They're exceptional but terribly sad

I do think he's pulled himself out of an earlier pit, but there's still a big cloud of depression over him - a feeling that life has let him down.

Vanilla Sky. It's bloated and overlong, and nowhere near as good as Open Your Eyes, but it's not quite the turkey its reputation suggests. Nearly. And it does feature an L.E. Which made me laugh.

Birth. A ten year old boy claims to be the re-incarnation of Nicole Kidman's dead husband. Odd and a bit unsettling but pretty good.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. It was rubbish, but strangely enjoyable. Like Sparticus with werewolves. And always nice to see Michael Sheen not playing Tony Blair or somebody else famous.

I Am Number Four - meh.

Finally finished watching season 5 of The Wire earlier. It gets a lot of stick, but the McNulty-Pretends-A-Serial-Killer-Is-Killing-And-Biting-The-Homeless-In-A-Sexual-Way storyline was one of my favourites of the entire run.

Prometheus

the new Phantom Menace.
