March of the Penguins. Aww.

Dark Shadows = garbage. Another terrible example of Tim Burton's teenage goth take on what constitutes 'dark'. It's only redeeming feature is that it featured some highly attractive ladies.

Yeh he seems to have lost his edge.

I mean Ed Wood may well be my fave film of all time.

:) The Voice, my choices are Ruth, Adele and the gorgeous shy Tyler!!

Think I'll pop a bet on!

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I'm not ashamed to admit I have absolutely no idea what was going on.

Film or TV series?

Books better

Film. I've since read the plot breakdown on Wikipedia and I'm still no closer to understanding what happened. I really thought I had a handle on it until about two thirds through then I totally lost track. The ending came out of nowhere for me.

Ah now the thing with the film is it's got all of the action and plot from the book. But none of the emotion.

In the book and the TV series, Smiley is a brilliant spy master but emotionally weak and cuckolded by his wife and boss. Where as in the film the Gary Oldman Smiley is somehow above all that.

So the action is actually about Smiley and the Mole being kind of reverse reflections.

The actual spying business is deliberately murky.

:) Agreed

Especially if you zip yourself into a holdall and can't get out again.

;) This is the problem I have with E.Bay !

A friend of mine went to the cast and crew screening of Prometheus, her husband worked on the film, and said that it wasn't very good. She only gave it a 3/10!

She did admit that it wasn't her kind of film, so I'm really hoping that her disklike was down to personal taste.

From her review - it looks amazing but is full of bad acting, dubious accents and a really cheesy bit with a flute.

:(

I read an interview with Ridley Scott on how he made Aliens. He described how he saw a giant vehicle used for shoving jets around Heathrow and insisted on buying one to use as the films Armoured Vehicle. The whole charm was in how it compromised around the limitations of the time.

Trying to make a new version of Alien where you can get all the special FX right. Is just well silly. Like Heston Blumenthal making a £1000 bowl of coco pops.

"Female flautist" would be more appropriate.

Totally agree with you on that one. Let's hope this isn't Ridders 'George Lucas' moment.
