I've just seen... Page 251

Cowboys & Aliens. Great fun.

Saw that last week. Not bad if you suspend disbelief.

'The Infidel' -Omid Djalili. Really funny in parts and thought provoking, though maybe the ending was a bit contrived.

I hated that film so much.

Anti-semite!

Haven't seen it myself. I'd seen Leon The Pig Farmer so it didn't seem worth it...

Sorry, David Baddiel. (Or "Dave" as you prefer to be called.)

Leon the Pig Farmer is ace.

And a delightfully surprising sequel to Leon.

Leon the Pig Farmer is ace.

Well, it's got Brian Glover in it, so by definition it's worth watching.

Plus, the bit with his goyim artist girlfriend painting him posing as Christ on the cross is genuinely very funny.

I hated that film so much.

Why did you hate it? Was it rubbish about Jewishness?

The Artist. It's quite good, but how it's even shortlisted for awards, never mind winning them, is beyond me.

Just got around to seeing this, and feel the same way. It was an enjoyable little film, with a few novel touches, and that's about it. It seems that filming in black and white immediately makes impressionable critics imagine they're watching great cinema.

I recently received a stack of unwanted DVDs. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many were a waste of time.

Hall Pass: By the Farrelly brothers. Awful, unfunny preaching about the importance of marital fidelity. The sole highlight was a scene with Stephen Merchant at the closing credits.

The Hangover Part II: Not bad. Exactly what I expected.

Scream 4: Pointless drivel, rehashing the worst of the original trilogy. There's nothing scary about a film trying so hard to be relevant.

Mardi Gras: Jesus wept. Teen sex 'comedies' have never been so bad. Short on gratuitous nudity too.

Chick Magnet: Three loser guys get a magical shirt that makes women want to f**k them. Could not sit through this, it was so dreadful.

I Love You Phillip Morris: Could have been so good. Based on the true story of a gay con-man who escaped from Texas jails four times. Sadly, the film-makers focused on making him 'humourously' camp. With stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor it should have been better.

Don't Tempt Me: Spanish 'comedy' starring Penelope Cruz and Victoria Abril. Pretentious, unfunny mess, in which Paris is Heaven and England is Hell.

The Social Network: Very good.

Malena: Italian coming-of-age film in which Monica Bellucci plays the lust interest by getting her tits out several times. Ho-hum critique of fascism and Italian prudery.

Agents Secrets: French 'thriller' starring Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel. Extreme dullness, not least because of Monica Bellucci's obligatory nude scene.

Kick-Ass: Fun, although perhaps too much swearing and violence for what is essentially a children's movie.

Drunken Master II: Makes me proud that Jackie Chan is part-Australian, even if he does support the Chinese government's evil policies nowadays.

Under the Influence: Chinese 'comedy' about the perils of alcoholism and infidelity. Nothing was lost in translation. It sucked.

'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy'; Engrossing, tense, great performances, but a very underwhelming ending.

I saw it, looked fantastic and amazing actors.

But I dunno some how it couldn't get the grubby menace of the superior TV series.

I think the TV series also managed to play up how it's the first part in a trilogy of Smiley vs Karl. So it felt like the mole was the really villain which kinda killed the tension.

Also Le Carre is far more interested in people than spying. So the way Smiley's being cuckolded by his wife is completely underplayed, misses out a lot of the human factor.

Probably the best Le Carre adaption for me is The Constant Gardner.

Brighton Rock' not a patch on original, and not true to Graham Green book.

It did feel a bit soapy and uninteresting.

The Wrestler was on Film 4 last night, so I thought I'd give it a go. Glad I did, it was an amazing film.

Can't believe Mickey Rourke lost out to Sean Penn at the Oscars, his performance was outstanding.

Plus Marisa Tormei's bits and pieces were looking fine as hell.
