I've just seen... Page 2

I liked the fact that one of the 'prawns' in District 9 wore a hat with a propeller on it.

Laughing out loud I didn't see that. I think that's reason enough to see it again.

I thought it was all right tbh. I was, though, really surprised at the amount of swearing and sexual suggestion in it. Thought it was meant mainly for kids?

Yea it was really weird to see. And those two retarded ghetto robot twins?! What the hell was that?!

Yeah, totally! I wonder how many complaints they would've got for this film? I mean I didn't mind it personally of course but it seems so wierd they put a kid's film out with such an adult-oriented script.

There was another film actually, but I can't remember what it was called. Had Will Ferrel(sp) in it. He went into another dimension where there were dinosaurs and lizard men and this monkey thing.

Did the Sid & Marty Krofft television show that it was based on ever air in the UK? Classic 1970s Saturday morning kids' television.

I don't think it did DaButt. I used to watch it religiously when I lived in the States. Even now, my brother and I refer to people with simian features as a 'Chaka' or being 'Chaka faced.'

I also remember it had 'remarkable' special effects, especially the raft going down the waterfall.

Nope, fraid not Dabutt, at least not to my knowledge, but then again I was only 3 when the 70's ended so maybe?

That's not the song I remember. Looks like they changed it when there was a change in actors.

This is the one that's still stuck in my head 35 years later:

Hi Dabutt.
No'one guessed your name in the silly BCG name thread by the way.

That sentence makes no sense does it?

I was busy most of the day and never got around to that thread. But I'm very much accustomed to being invisible to people, especially women. Teary

You know it's cheap when they re-use the same raft shot for both intros. :D

It was the clue Steve, if you'd put 'District Attorney's cigarette end', then I would have got it - especially as I just made up the clue myself.

District 9 is my favourite movie so far this year, and possibly one of my favourite movies ever. I've seen it 3 times now, sad man that I am. 100% recommended.

District 9 is ace! That's all I have to say.

Dan

Good to see people enjoying a big budget Sci Fi film as good as District 9 after so many endured the pain that is Transformers and Terminator Salvation this year.
Both McG and Michael Bay are evil talentless hacks, typify everything that has gone wrong with Hollywood and should be shot.

District 9 was Brilliant. The short film it's based on is easily found on YouTube. Alive in Joberg.

Watchmen, yawn.

And the rest of the films I saw this week:

Knowing: Enjoyable, not as bad as it's reviews.
Driven to Kill: Steven Segal being fat and mumbling with Russain accent.
Far Cry: Baaaad. not even B-Movie cheesy.

I'm just waiting for Napoleon Dynamite to buffer a bit, then I'm gonna go collect some sausage and chips from the Chinese, then I'm going to watch me film. Heard good things about it so I'm quite looking forward to it.

Meh, I didn't like it.
