Cypher is fantastic, I'm amazed it isn't better known.

Is very good.

Any bit where they tried to show the cool side of genetic science - Brody's all night splicing benders in his funny outfits and daft haircut. And the organisation he worked for was called N.E.R.D.? Come on now.

Didn't bother me!

Talking of Mr Cube, I think his following film, Cypher, about industrial espionage, is an underrated gem.

Vincenzo Natali also directed a weird film called Nothing. I haven't seen it but it looks quite intriguing. Although like most of his films it seems to have died on its arse at the box office.

The Illusionist. Borrowed it from the library because I'm a big fan of magic tricks and of the two male leads: Ed Norton (excellent at playing inscrutable dweebs with ulterior motives) and Paul Giamatti (good as Bob Zmuda in Man on the Moon, and also good in Man on the Moon). The result? Crap.

never let me go

what a sad film

The Consequences of Love. Quietly compelling Italian drama about a lonely businessman who falls in love with a barmaid and as a result rips off the Mafia. Poignant death-by-wet-cement scene in it too.

I've watched my first episodes of Lead Balloon.

Jolly good fun they were as well.

Burke and Hare. Nothing special, but rather enjoyable. Cracking cast too.

Finally got round to The Wrassler. Good stuff. And Mickey Rourke and his corn-beef face are excellent.

thats a really sad film and rourke's amazing

I was impressed at how downbeat it was. That takes balls.

I really love that film. In fact I've got a spare blu-ray if your player can play multi-region.

Blu-ray! I'm sticking with DVD until at least 2023.

Fine, screw you. Anyone else want it?

Oooh... feisty! Like a young Janine Garofalo be...

"So, anyway, I got my period, yeah...?"

:)
