It's had 3 out of five style reviews in the main from what I've seen.

I really fancy Green Hornet. Is there a new X Men movie coming?? How have I missed this?

The trailer for The King's Speech seemed to give so much away and show so much of the action that even if I did venture out to the cinema again I wouldn't be going to see that.

We've had this chat about people in cinemas before. The place was packed. Not one seat left and guess who gets in the bloody row with the three women who are up and out of their seats twice during the film!!!! Pirate

First film I've been to mind where people actually clapped at the end.

Finally got round to watching Downfall, about the last days of the Third Reich. Great stuff, and Bruno Ganz is excellent as Hitler, although there were a few moments when he reminded me of Michael Palin.

Downfall is great as a film, but dubious as a work of liberal propaganda

I don't even know what that means.

Well the repainting the big beasts of the Nazi era as sort of demonic uber conservative monsters. And everyone else just incredibly shocked by what was going on.

I'm not sure it did do that. It made human figures who had previously only been charicatures in films. Plus it must have the highest number of suicides of any film ever, which was nice.

I don't mind humanising Himmler or Hitler.

But the Dr,the propagandist were all vicious bastards in real life who got an undeserved grey wash.

Goebbels did come out of it looking like a nasty little shit. Although you can't help but secretly admire any man that gets his wife to poison their kids.

The real monsters got a fair accurate treatment,

it's the lesser Nazis who get off far, far to lightly
