When Python's 30th anniversary special was broadcast in the Netherlands it was dragged out over a couple of nights, featuring the new skits and bits, interspersed with the Python movies and Flying Circus highlights. I think the 40th anniversary DVD set runs to 7 hours, showing old and new. Probably the Americans get that plus the movies.

They keep advertising it as a six part event, but upon closer inspection it's actually a week of Python stuff. I'll have to wait and see.
