Really bad. No question. I'd like the opportunity of reviewing a good script - like "by any other name's" for e.g.

How do you know it is any good? :D Is it the name Steven? Is it the V not the P???

Steven is the American spelling. However, Steve is also the abreviated form of Stephen. If you like, you can call me Steve, for short - however, I'm 6'4" and no one calls me short. Bit of a dilema, eh?
AND how do I know "it's" any good? Another good question and to which the answer is, I agree.

It mentions on the site that if someone has an issue with copyright and suggest their work has been copied then the team will go back through the logs and see who has read what then supposedly back the person who first submitted that script. That is my understanding of it anyway.

But what happens if for example I happen to be at an advanced stage of developing a sitcom about say, a camp traffic warden but have not yet competed the script. Then it so happens that I pick a sitcom to critique that also happens to be about a camp traffic warden. Then say that when my script is complete I get lucky and it is taken further. What happens when the person who's script I read claims I stole the idea and the First Look reading logs indicate that I did indeed read that script?

That is my concern.

Def.

I wonder if anyone has got anything actually out of this whole First Look thingy yet. Besides a few nice reviews. (I haven't taken part by the way)

I sent them something, but I believe Ladma lost it as they aren't au fait with Outlook yet.

Hi Def, I would say if you're developing a script about a camp traffic warden and there's one on the First Look list, don't pick that one to read and you should be OK.

Does a camp traffic warden ensure you don't drive faster than five miles per hour?

I'd say that the legality of their copyright is probably questionable. As regards copying an idea.

I submitted a script Screenplay had previously passed on without reading, based on a brief description. It was well reviewed enough that they were obliged to look at it and I've just re written it for radio at their request with a view to it being taken forward with the other projects I have with Sceenplay.

Good luck with it. Lots of people seem to have projects with Screenplay, don't they? Hopefully they'll get something actually on TV or radio one day.

The got the BBC to commission a pilot script of another project which was my first real writing pay cheque, so, here's hoping.
