You should follow my lead and give everything a chance. Silly, silly Timothy.

I shall tune in when it's repeated. I hope you appreciate what a massive climb-down this represents for me. ;)

This run was definitely a step up from the first series. (Though I did like the first series anyway)

Very good series. Indeed.

Anyway. It was highly amusing. Was glad to see that Don followed Sam rather than waiting for Abby.

Ah, but you assume he was going in there to pork her rather than let her down gently. Which is the more likely, I would've thought.

I met Dan Clarke last night, I was drunk so I went right up to him, I immediately realised that he was with his friend and apologised for interrupting his evening, but he seemed fine, I told him I really liked his stuff, and that his series is one of the better things on BBC Three, He I asked him about him Directing the series, and he told me he didn't direct any of series 2, and he then asked me what I thought of series 2, and I told him I thought is was better than series 1, not to say that I didnt like seres 1, cos I most definitely did. Anyway, he was a nice guy, very down to earth

Did you speak to him with no pauses too? ;)

:D Yey! Bit too far away for my liking.

For those who care, 'Broadcast' have announced today the news that NBC have ordered a script pilot for a possible US remake. (Apparently, this is the 2nd time there has been a pilot script commissioned in the US. Don't know where it was before, but they obviously rejected it.)

Still haven't caught up with this sitcom but read the fascinating article on the show's slow journey to making it to the states in a US-made version, on the news link here. So a show's creators really do have some clout, and it seems, with this show, some integrity as well! I hope it gets made the way they want. I will have to try and see our version soon, it's a show that's intrigued me for a while, with the things I've heard about it.

US made version? Why not just show our version? We have to endure enough of their shit. Bout time they had some of ours instead of thinking they can come up with better versions that either never make it past a pilot or get axed after a few episodes have been made.

They already have and will continue to show our one, David, but they don't make much money out of it. If a show gets good ratings, then it's much more lucrative for them to pay a coupla million bucks for the rights and churn out 200 plus episodes - it's all about lucra over there, as I am sure you're aware.

US made version? Why not just show our version?

As Alfred says, they'd rather their own version, and I can't blame them. Just like we'd prefer to watch a comedy set in London rather than New York, they're going to attract a bigger US audience if they use local actors and locations. Plus there's the money side of things... for example, if NBC had just taken the UK version of The Office, all they'd have got is the advertising revenue from repeating 14 episodes. By making their own version, they've now made a fortune in DVD sales and all that sort of thing (they're past 100 episodes now!)

Of course, sometimes things really don't work out (e.g. Worst Week), and then we can say they should have just shown ours... but you can't blame them for trying.

(We do it too... re-makes of Dharma & Greg and Bewitched are just two of the shows currently being developed)

Bewitched I can understand, but Dharma and flipping Greg?
How is that a concept that needs to be 'remade'? What was different about it?
Wasn't it just 2 people who lived together?
