What Have You Done Lately?

Has this been done before? If it has I'm sure Chappers will pop up in the next 5 seconds and tell me.

Anyway, this is a thread to tell the world what you've been up to, comedy writing wise today. We're all guilty of being lazy bastards from time-to-time, and there's no bigger enemy of creativity than procrastination. So having a dedicated thread where you can proudly proclaim that you've just finished that sitcom, or you've just sent off some great sketches, or even something as small as seeing something funny at the bus stop and writing it down for a sketch idea, just might inspire / give a kick up the arse to those currently being less industrious.

I'll kick off. This morning I started work on a brand new sitcom idea set in a computer games shop, then had to stop just as it was getting interesting because I needed to get some funny slogans done for a company that makes novelty aprons and oven gloves.

The glamour. Rolling eyes Over to you then.

Just finishing up a batch of 22 sketches for my agent to start trying to flog off. Like having sketch ideas, hate the actual process of writing them - far more of a struggle than sitcom, I find. Then back to the sitcom I took a break from because I couldn't get the characters sorted out in my head properly. A 30-something science teacher is recovering from having his heart very publicly broken and is confronted by a strange person on a bus who gives him the phone number for a rather unusual dating agency...

Handed in a sitcom script to one producer, putting the finishing touches to a new pilot, and on Sunday, myself, Bussell and Ben had a meeting with the bloke who is going to be directing our sketch show pilot. Anyone got any suggestions for some male performers??

Wrote one of my better sketches on the way to work - but didn't finish it as fellow train passenger sat on me.

Arrived at work to find an email in personal account asking if I'd be interested in paid project to convert a screenplay into a stage play.

Secured a long barrelled de-commissioned REAL gun for my play next week - you just know that's going to go wrong.

And, after promising myslef that I'm recharging my batteries having finished a play last week, a corker of an idea has decided to settle in.

Just finished writing a sketch about a man with a Harmonica stuck up his Arse. And started the animatic for my next animation.

Blimey, I can barely write one a week. You're a machine!

Innnnteresting, I hope it goes well.

Don't have to go into work today, so I intend to take stab at a sitcom pilot I have been working on. I need to rethink the relationship between two of the main characters, and rejig the opening, possibly coming into the story earlier. The central premise depends on depressed property values, so my enthusiasm for the project has been undermined by the recovery in the housing market.

I find writing sitcom incredibly hard; much happier writing sketches. So I might do that instead as a displacement activity. Or just aimlessly kill time on here.

Wrote a draft sitcom script with co-writer last week. Filled in short film entry forms, which I need to send off this week. Sent off our sitcom trials entry. Sent in a script to a production company. Copywriting the work today.

Me, baby...

Well procrastination is the thief of ...

Yes, Dr Johnson? Errr

I'm about to begin making notes on a new sitcom idea, I've been thinking about for a while. While I left the keyboard for a while I see the kitten has made a start:

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-------
----------------------------------------------------------------------''''''''''''''''

////////////////////////////////

Somehow he managed to get the first letter of the title correct.

Sweet FA!

Although I might have another stab at animating, but I doubt I'll get very far.

What's it for?
Is it TV or Radio?

Someone stole the word.

No doubt you'll still find a way of getting paid for it though...
