Racism and excessive force remain part of Australian police culture - at least in Western Australia.

I hate it when the video is choppy and there are missing chunks of audio. I couldn't begin to form an opinion after watching something like that.

Obviously I can't comment on this specific case, as I wasn't there and haven't spoken to anyone involved, though news reports say that "after an internal police inquiry, two senior constables were fined $1,200 Australian dollars and AU$750 for using excessive force" - and that was before the tapes were made public, so presumably the cops knew they were in the wrong. There is a long history of aboriginal men dying in police custody. They are often hauled into stations for being drunk or under the influence of drugs, whereupon assaults are not unknown. I went to school with a guy who is now an officer at a correctional facility and the last time I saw him, he was drunkenly bragging of the beatings he inflicts on Aborigines.
I'm in favor of releasing police videos in order to ensure that cops stay on the right side of the law. That said, I want such videos to present clear evidence to the contrary. Videos that are edited, censored or fuzzy do nothing but add fuel to the flames of anti/pro police squabbles.
Not bad, but someone should tell him that Americans don't say "taking the piss."
Can somebody explain the mentality of YouTube commenters to me?
I bunged up a few vids -- mainly sketches lifted from TV -- a few years ago, and I'd estimate that at least 90% of the comments people put on them are just quotes from the video. No criticism, comment, nothing like that. Just the quotes. What do these people hope to achieve?

I put one up of me on a ride at Drayton Manor and I just get kids saying they've been on it, and liked it etc.
