Lang Lang started learning piano at two when he saw the Tom & Jerry episode Cat Concerto where Tom is playing Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. The power he gets out of the piano playing it here is beyond comparison and it gives me goose bumps every time.

Laughing out loud No such thing as those in the late 70s when I was there,, but you could buy very cheap stuff at the GUM store that was adjacent to St. Basil's, which I see is still there................

............ALTHOUGH THEN it was nowhere near as highfalutin' as shown here, AND they had an odd system whereby you had to pay for the goods first at a central cash kiosk and then take that receipt to the department counter to get the goods. :S

I used to have a Saturday job at Imhofs (Music & Hi-Fi) in 1976, on New Oxford St. I worked in the Pop/Rock section, and they used a similar payment system.

Oh, well I have never came across it in this country, and it was 1977 I was in Russia, so are you sure Imhofs wasn't in Moscow and you had forgotten this? :D
