Quote: Sammy @ September 5 2009, 8:30 PM BSTDid nobody else call your morning snack this? I think it may have derived from the word 'piece' as in bread so it might be a Scottish thing. Either that or my parents lied to me
Ahh I was thinking that might be what you meant after I posted. You young 'uns I thought it was like show and tell which was after my time as well. Snacks in break time? You *were* posh.
Hmmm, "mash with cigarette ash". Good times.
Quote: Rob0 @ September 5 2009, 7:49 PM BSTMmm they were tasty
What were those animal-shapes biscuits that had chocolate on one side in a kind of crinked effect? Happy childhood food.
Cadburys Animals and they do still exist.

Quote: Curt @ September 5 2009, 6:57 PM BSTLEMON CUUUUUUUURD!!!!
They don't sell any of it in Ottawa except specialty British stores an hour outside of OTtawa.
I know it may not be the same but maybe this can help.
Easy lemon curd:
Juice of 3 lemons.
1 tbsp grated lemon rind.
150g Sugar.
3 Eggs.
50g softened butter.
Mix the ingrediants together with an electric whisk. Pop in a pan and simmer on a medium setting, do not leave or allow to boil. The curd is ready when it can coat a metal spoon. Allow to cool, pour into a container with lid, and chill.
