Writing in dialect

Just embarking on a new project. All plotted out and storyboarded etc, all I have to do is write the script - but it's set within an area with a strong regional dialect.

So question is this. Do I write it up phonetically with the dialect as I would want the characters to use, or do I do in standard lingo and leave all that until we're casting and in pre-production :D :D

I know there's no right or wrong here but just looking for a consensus from anybody who can be arsed to comment.

Thanks ever so

Write it in standard English, using phrases, etc from the dialect. You could establish at the beginning the characters that have accents. Nuffing more annoying than trying t'read dialogue in dialect innit, ya ken?
