Super Dave Osborne

Can anyone recall which show featured Super Dave Osborne, a spoof of a really hopeless Evil Kineval type stunt rider played by US comedian Bob Eisner?

Its probably mid 80s to early 90s and it is possibly something like Clive James or Jasper Carrot.

Anyone recall Super Dave?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Dave_Osborne ?

I certainly recall Super Dave. He was featured in the UK on 'Saturday Night Clive', Clive James' BBC1 show which was half chat show & half 'Clive James on Television'.

I've measured things in 'Super Dave Safety Lengths' ever since. ("A Super Dave Safety Length is the same as a car length, but a Super Dave Safety Length is easier to remember"......)

I spent ages trying to explain Super Dave to people I met during the 90's. Where was the internet then? If I could've shown those doubters the wiki page they may not have looked at me with incredulity, instead they would've had a look of pity too.

I'm in work so can't look at YouTube so would anyone care to have a quick shufty and tell me if there's any super Dave material there.

nice. Wave

Do you remember watching Clive James showing those Japanese Endurance clips.

Oh how we laughed. We'd never do anything so ridiculous or dangerous.

Clive James also used to feature an odd but harmless evangelist called Tim Whittington and once asked if he was related to Dick Whittington; "Yes, we believe we are related to the Whittingtons of London"

Clive James on a sunday night. what a memory.
The thrill of watching a grown up TV programme and staying up late-ish. Couple this with the schoolkids mantra of 'i ain't done my homework, she's gonna kill me' and you can accurately sum up my sunday night.

I checked YouTube and there's loads of stuff as I expected, some of it is quite good too.
