Hi all.
A while ago, I came on here and was asking a few questions about what people thought of comedy theatre. I had an entry into the heats of the Cardiff-based scriptslam competition.
I'm a firm believer that, as long as there is a definite plot, theatre can be consistently laugh out loud funny and entice a new type of audience along.
Needless to say, the judging panel repeatedly offered comments to the tune of 'of course it's very funny, but...' There was a plot though and the audience enjoyed it. I ended up as runner-up in the final too.
Now, to try to redress this balance, I, along with some colleagues, have formed my own theatre company.
Our first play, a genuinely funny comedy, plays at the Gate Theatre, Cardiff on 18th September, 2009 - 19:30 and a fiver a ticket.
If you can be there then great. Feel free to get involved too - we're going to be running a sketch show (possibly competition) at Christmas so let us know that you're interested in writing for it.
