Anyone had a blast at writing any?
Are blokes any good at it? (Richard Curtis aside)
What's the British market like at the moment?
Enough Questions!

I sold one to Granada Films, who ceased to exist. I don't think there was a connection.

Anyone any good at it apart from Richard Curtis and Marc?
What was it Marc?

Didn't John Sullivan write Just good Friends?, which was one of the finest romantic sit-coms and managed to appeal to men and women.
It was originally called 'FUNNY THING LIFE' but Matthew Bird kept forgetting the title so we called it THE GOOD SAMARITAN, it was about a Lawyer and a woman suing her local hospital. Might have to dig it out sometime.
Is there nothing you're not good at?
*shakes fist*

I SOLD ONE

You need to put on your brown coat and get a stutter!
Nah, money doesn't warm your heart quite like eating popcorn in the cinema and seeing your name [spelt correctly] at the front of a film does.
Ok - but it must help.
So, oh learned one, is this even harder to break into than sitcom?
I would say it is harder just at the number of British films that get made let alone Rom Coms, but they do all say they are looking for them. Mine has a lead in a wheelchair which didn't help but was kinda essential. I haven't given up on it just forgot about it. It may be re-invented.
I know Dave M who occasionally frequents these boards has recently sold a Rom Com to AV Pictures.

So, aside from Richard Curtis, Marc P and Dave M - are blokes any good at writing Rom Com?
Do you need to be good? Isn't there a very tight formula for writing Rom Com? No matter how well it's masked.

Don't you have be good at anything to get success?
