Sleepless in Peckham was one of the most disappointing episodes...but not just that episode...all episodes after they finally got rich...
Worst Only Fools episode. Page 6
I seem to be one of the few people who don't think that re-opening the OFAH saga after they've become rich was such a great mistake. "If They Could See Us Now" and "Strangers On The Shore" had both funny stories with great single gags as for example, the montage in which one sees how the trotters squandered their money, Alberts funeral do, Del participating in Johnathan Ross' gameshow, Del & Rodney in France, the "Gary-Gang" and so on. "Strangers" was especially delightful seeing three separate plots coming together in a showdown. But...and this the sad thing: "Sleepless In Peckham" must be (at least for me) the worst episode ever in the whole Trotter saga. Most of the jokes were unfunny and the "plot" is an embarrassment: "Hhhm, let's make our heros think that Boycie has murdered Marlene...and by the wy let's make them suddenly solve their financial and personal problems at the very end.
This is a shame; a very sad ending although it featured a happy ending, plotwise. My top ten candidates for the title of "worst episode" were:
"Big Brother"
"Diamonds Are For Heather"
"Wanted"
"Thicker Than Water"
"Watching The Girls Go By"
"Dates"
"The Sky's The Limit"
"Fatal Extraction"
"Heroes & Villiains" (despite the great Batman & Robin scene)
"Sleepless In Peckham"
...and off all things John Sullivan ****ed up the show's grande finale!
Not Miami Twice?

"Miami Twice" is ridiculously overblown, the Trotters are out of their usual millieu*, the guest appearances (Branson, Gibb) are unessecary the doppelgängermotif isn't very original...and yet for me this episode has its charms. I like Don Occhetti, the "limey vs. Americans motif", Rodney's illusion of making sophisticated holidays, "Trotter's Pre-Blessed Wine", Rodney calling the camper van a "mobile ghetto", Boycie in a plane seeing Del on his jet ski 25 miles off the coast etc.
I've noticed a lot of venom by many members here towards the "Royal Flush" episode. I even like that one (although I'm somewhat irritated by the lack of a laugh track)...I never heard the expression "psychedelic yodel" before; that cracks me up
*:...the Trotters being out of their usual environment (i.e. the Peckham streets or flats) isn't actually a drawback. IMO a lot of good OFAH episodes had unusual settings:
-the one with the nuclear fall out shelter
-the holidays in Benidorm
-the hostage-taking in a supermarket
-the second part of "Royal Flush"
-the fishing/axe murderer trip
-holidays in Mallorca after Rodney "won" the kids painting contest
That would be an idea for a separate thread. The best/worst sitcom episodes set outside their usual environment! (but maybe such a thread already exists)
I think the worst is butterfly one because I don't think chasing butterflies was normal for the Trotters. I found it boring, in fact I think all Series 4 was bad.

I don't think it was all bad but I recall it being a bit uneven in quality. The dog one was really lame but the next was a top ten episode imo, the Rodney girlfriend bet thing. And if you count that year's special as belonging to the series (I don't know if people do or not) then it's not too bad because THAB was top 5.
Easily the worst episode imo, and I turned off halfway through, was the one where Rodney goes on about Damien. Awful.

A series I have trouble watching is 7, because it changed so radically from what it was. Probably the worst episode I remember, and I turned off halfway through, was the one where Rodney goes on about Damien. I totally lost interest in OFAH from that moment.
I didn't like the decorating one at Denzil's.

Come ooooon, the "kentucky fried canary" was great!
Also I hated A Slow Bus To Chingford.
Starting from Monday, BBC One will be repeating Only Fools And Horses from the first ever episode! Starting on Monday at 2:10pm on BBC One. Can't wait!

Nooooo, "Ethnic London" was great too. Loved to see how Del Boy exploited Rodney by giving him two jobs: bus driver and "nocturnal security officer"...great stuff
Diamonds Are For Heather
Watching The Girls Go By
If They Could See Us Now
I've noticed that the most disliked episodes on here have some of the longest running-times. I personally think that anything over 60 minutes for an episode is generally too long. The Jolly Boys Outing is the only exception for me.
I'm sure those final 3 episodes would have had a better reception had they been shorter and had the crappy scenes edited out.
