Both big, steaming, non-comedy turds.

Quote: bigfella @ August 12 2009, 12:02 AM BSTA good answer!
Have you thought of standing for parliment?
No. But the answer stands.
Quote: Nigel Kelly @ August 11 2009, 11:50 PM BSTProbably less than this:
For a deeper range of expression try this scene from The Wire (from 1 minute in).

I guess, to be fair, it is the right answer.

Personally I try to stick to one f**k per half hour. My wife thinks there's room for more but what does she know?
Room for more or more in the time?
Marc, that wasn't an invitation.
Lol

Quote: Timbo @ August 11 2009, 11:58 PM BSTDidn't South Park go all out to break the record on this?
That would have been the Season 5 episode 'It Hits the Fan', where they used the word 'shit' 162 times. Unless they've recently done a 'f**k' episode.
You should aim for none. Your script doesn't need them. I wouldn't put any into a script I hadn't sold.
Swear words are almost always not necessary. Your writing will look better without them.
F**k, yeah!

Agree with Godot.
Start from the assumption of zero, at the very least. Porridge had loads of swearing in it but it was pre-watershed. How did they manage that? They invented other words. I know a lot of people disagree about this, but why alienate people from your work with one sniff of a strong swear word when you can attract even more people with suggestion and a bit of imagination?
[PS I know I swear sometimes. Sorry.]
[PPS - just think what Porridge might be like written as a post-watershed C4 sitcom. Is it better?]
