Facebook, MySpace encourage children to suicide

"The Catholic Church in England has warned that websites such as Facebook and MySpace are pushing teenagers to view friendship as a
"commodity" and ultimately leading them to commit suicide."

It's a bit rich having him tell us about friends, when his best friend is imaginary.

He's got a point.

Is there such a thing as justifiable suicide?

The kind of person who commits suicide on the basis of society that encourages badger throwing and collecting imaginary friends is no great loss.

And organised religion can f**k off.

I know I'm at wit's end since my mom joined Facebook. She's sending friend requests to all my friends, so now I have grumpy friends sending messages to me. She's on it constantly. I moved our family to another town to get away from her.

It's like why can't the pope say hey the internets ace, we can help bring catholcis together from around the world, have on line mass for isolated believers and maybe even reach young people through a medium they use.

But no it's the same old literacy/socialism/computers/wheels/fire/english/theatre are all abominations unto Nuggen.

Atleast televangleists believe in technology. Jesus would have had a facebook page.

My fathers facebook page has many friend requests, but where one is refused I also have a myspace page.

I recently wrote a piece on the people we add to our accounts recently and to be honest, you just can't have 170 nearest and dearest so it's not a big deal and I don't think most people who use social network sites truely care, it's just a few who go a bit over the top. Most people with high numbers have added random people they don't really know for various reasons - Making new friends, promoting stuff, not wanting to be rude, etc, and everyone they add are doing the same so to assume someone who has 486 friends knows them all is really daft. :)

How cool would it be to turn down a friend request from Jesus.

"Peter, that's three times you've turned down my friend request..."

He'd forgive you for you know not what you do.

I wish it would.

If Facebook is such a bad thing, why did God invent it?

It's good to see he is taking Health & Safety seriously and using a cloth to lessen the risk of cutting his fingers.
