Theatres interested in plays from new writers

Cheers, Griff.

Anyone (else) enter The Loft's competition that closed last week?

Nice one Griff! :)

Nice one Griff

Yep, I entered it chief

Cheers Griff! Good man.

Actually Script Angel herself looks like a good place for a pro critique. Not sure about sitcom, but certainly drama.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything specifc about the theares looking for new writing. I have looked at the list on griff's link and have gone through it but am still unsure which ones would be best suited to my writing. I guess I am looking for a theatre who are into more experimental writing with a sliglty sick sense of humour. I know there are some out there but a lot of the theatres describe themselves as aiming to bringthe community together and I am pretty sure my play from someone who lives the other side of the country wouldn't be what they had in mind.

The Soho Theatre Company springs to mind there. http://www.sohotheatre.com

Oh, and I do believe Out Of Joint http://www.outofjoint.co.uk look for something different.

Of course, it's best to email them and find out.

Unfortunately theatre in the UK is stiffer than a dead man's hard-on. And I only started writing narrative comedy because I couldn't get my plays understood.

That's hardly surprising. I don't understand half of what you write on here.
