It was brilliant. I thought Monty was great and the angry Italian parent. I'm still sad there was no 2nd series.

I think this might have aired over here, but only an episode or two and then it disappeared. What was the timeframe from when it aired to all the controversy?

The show was on in Summer 2005, IIRC, and Langham was arrested in December 2006.

That sounds about right. I think it aired on one of those disappearing stations over here. I remember seeing 2 episodes and then it was replaced by infomercials.
