This Aussie comedy deserves a wider audience. I found it on Dave which has a Thursday night spot which is kept free from smug pricks testing cars.
The plot features a likeable loser, Tom Chandon, chasing his film director dreams and scratching a living doing poor quality corporate videos and borrowing money from his brother. They never pour complete humiliation on the central characters which is always obligatory in most comedies nowadays and is all the more refreshing for it.
Of course Tom and his cohorts still make tits of themselves and is very funny but not cringingly toe curling and you always kind of root for him and his gang in a way you wouldn't for Basil Fawlty or David Brent etc.
That may sound of smaltzy to British ears and should be avoided but its not and if you can find it give it a try, great cast, fleshed out characters and beautifully written.
It looks very funny!!
