Who's it for again?
Passive Aggressive Characters Page 2
Quote: Kenneth @ July 31 2009, 2:13 PM BSTCould Albert Steptoe be classified as passive aggressive (at least sometimes)?
Sometimes. But I'm thinking of someone who is always passive aggressive. Who can't snap out of it.

In fact it's round the corner on East Sussex, St Leonards-on-Sea.
Quote: James Cotter @ July 31 2009, 2:35 PM BSTI'm currently developing a new character called Jeremy Spicer with two talented writers called Stuart Greenwood and Michael Curle at it's for Jan at ScreenPlay Productions.
But what is the character for?
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ July 31 2009, 2:43 PM BSTBut what is the character for?
I'm not allowed to say as it may comprise are position with the broadcaster and production companies. All I can say is there's two central characters and I play one and Stuart Greenwood plays the other. Not very helpful but it's the best I can do for now.
Back to the passive aggressive character. What ensemble characters would bring the most out of situation of a passive aggressive community support worker who has bounds of relentless optimism but actually talent in nothing?

Very true.

I thought you and the brilliant writers were writing this?

Very witty Tim.

No I'm not writing the passive aggressive character now I am writing another character for the show with ScreenPlay. The passive aggressive character is something I am thinking of developing after this current project.

I see.
Issues surrounding passive aggressive characters can never be over analysed. At one stage or another, every comedy writer will be faced with the issue of passive aggressive characters. While it has been acknowledged that it has an important part to play in comedy, several of today's most brilliant comedy writers seem incapable of recognising its increasing relevance to understanding comedy - in particular, situation comedy. Inevitably, feelings run deep amongst those who post on this forum, whom I can say no more about due to legal restrictions.
