We Are Klang Page 14

Oh, yes it was.

Apparently, according to Steve Hall on the John Richardson Radio show..
Greg got a woman to sleep him by pretending to be the drummer from the Wonderstuff,
He did own up afterwards...
Which was nice.

And Steve Hall (the one who looks like Mark Watson)
Seems to be the only member of Klang who doesn't have an entry on Wikipedia.
(at the time of posting)

Irrelevant, possibly!
Off topic? I think not.

I have to say I wasn't familar with We Are Klang but after three episodes, I really like it. The actual plot of the episodes are pretty straight forward but add the Klang madness and it's hilarious plus the fact that the fourth wall is nonexistant.

Klang are great performers but Steve is my favourite, I love the Jew Song and in this episode, the references to Inbetweeners both the sitcoms and Greg's porn mag.

the fourth wall is nonexistant.

I particularly hate that. I think I see it as a variety/light entertainment thing. It feels totally at odds with what I like and look for in sitcoms.

P.S. I like the songs!

Me too. It's like we're twins or something! (That's the third time I've used that on here. I think I need new material.)

The songs bore me a little, but I like it when they CUT TO: the audience!

Do you *whispers* too?

Hug

Only with *whispers* and sticky back plastic. (Oh no off topic! Help, say something quick) KLANG! (I think I got away with that one)

Then you have no taste :P KLANG! *Just in case*

3 shows in and I really like this.

It is stupid and silly but to use a common phrase of Aaron you can just switch off your brain and enjoy it.

Saw this for the first time. Bottom comparisons are inevitable simply because one of them as nicked his shtick wholesale from Rik Mayall, but it is less structured and sillier. Nothing wrong with silly, but it is not a substitute for being funny. The jokes just were not good enough.

I tried again and still couldn't quite get into it. The mayor character reminds me of Grot Bags in Emu's Pink Windmill, so that might be affecting it for me.

Something that's been bugging me for ages is who Steve Hall reminds me of. It's just twigged: his delivery and cynicism is almost identical to David Baddiel's.

On the CD for the radio show they are billed as...

'We Are Klang' are three stand-up comedians: Greg Davies - 'a very fat Rik Mayall', Steve Hall - 'a poor man's David Baddiel', and the hairless Marek Larwood - 'a homeless Matt Lucas'.

And face!

(Ok, not identical but pretty damn close.)

Less beardy.

I didn't realise Greg looked like Rik Mayall until I was told and now I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD.
