HELPING THE COMMUNITY

INT. LIVING ROOM. FRI 10.40

THREE ELDERLY LADIES AND ONE ELDERLY GENTLEMEN ARE SAT AROUND A TABLE IN A FLOWERY LIVING ROOM SIPPING COFFEE

MAUREEN:
Well, as you know, we've had a bit of bad press recently and I'd like to suggest that we, the Nazi Community of Little Whippham-On-The-Hill, do something about it.

AGNES:
Hear hear!

MAUREEN:
What I propose is that we do something for the community to help replenish the public opinion of us with positivity. Any suggestions?

DOROTHY:
We could round up all the people we think are a threat to our society and burn them alive?

MAUREEN:
No, I'm not so sure about that any more. Caused a spot of bother last time.

AGNES:
What about a beauty day? We could do makeovers for the whole community!

MAUREEN:
What a wonderful idea! What did you have in mind?

AGNES:
I was thinking we could dye everyone's hair blonde?

MAUREEN:
What if they don't want blonde?

AGNES:
We burn down their houses and kill their families.

MAUREEN:
We'll put that in the maybe's I think... Anything else?

ARTHUR:
I think I've got an idea...

ALL LEAN FORWARD

DOROTHY:
What is it Arthur?

CUT TO:

EXT. COMMUNITY CENTRE. SAT 09.30

THE FOUR ELDERLY PEOPLE ARE PAINTING THE COMMUNITY CENTRE, DRESSED HEAD TO TOE IN FULL NAZI UNIFORMS, POINTY HELMETS AND ALL

END

I can't imagine this has been done before.

It really needs a couple of gags and/or a pertinent reveal to give it a chance.

It's a passable idea but you kinda blow the joke by announcing their nazis in the first line and then you kinda over egg the pudding in my view. Slow it down make them sound more reasonable with a nazi twist and it could work.

I did quite a similar skit called "parish pump"

I don't get this at all, to be honest.

Surely, you either need two or three bland ideas (flowers and stuff) then the nazi reveal? I don't get how the last bit is funny, if you've already suggested burning down houses and killing families. The problem's in the construct of the joke.
