My best friend is Scottish-Mexican. He makes the best haggis tacos ...
What's your take on forum moderators? Page 8
Well-made haggis is very nice, I think. Just best not to think too much about what's in it.
I make fandabbydozey tatty scones.
I really like the moderators on here, for what it's worth. I think that they're really lovely, helpful and approachable, and that we should really appreciate everything that they do to try to keep this forum, at least relatively, sane.
On the topic of "Cedric." My mum's uncle is called Cedric, he once married a woman much older than himself who was a divorcee. About a year into the marriage he left her... to run off with her ex-husband.
I like that story every time.
To answer the original post, I think this...
Forum Swap
Aaron, an ex Spice Girl and former hit man for the infamous Brittas Empire took overall control of the 'General Thread' during the divisive 'Allo Allo' years.
Slag A, a heartbreaking poet and part time ferret handler from the Valleys had run a tight ship on 'Critique' since birth. A feat made even more impressive by the fact that the site wasn't around then. *
This is what happened when they 'Swapped Forums' for two weeks last summer...
Aaron tried his hardest to follow Slag A's rules and provide encouragement to the writing wannabees with their wacky ideas and thin skins but he couldn't get over the appalling grammar and that. While they waited expectantly for praise or a magical new direction to take their comedy in he could only point out incorrect verb structures or the basic rules of the future simple continuem.
Meanwhile Slag A was having similar problems in the 'General' area declaring the latest thread on favourite lunchtime snacks reminiscent of the recent sandwich fillings thread and therefore neither unique nor with any sign of a passable punch line coming anytime soon.
For weeks the forums floundered and things started to turn ugly until Mark threatened to come in and sort everyone out. That seemed to do the trick with no-one wanting to upset 'The Boss' and in a magically contrived way they each had their much needed epiphany. ..
Aaron was suddenly able to provide one of the funniest ever endings to a sketch – "So that's why you blatantly put the toast fork in the PM, Darling!" not even noticing his own split infinitive in his enthusiasm to pass that one on.
On the same day Slag A finally understood the true zen of pointless threads and even started his own "What's your favourite ice cream topping?" one which went down a storm and continues to grow strong with over 3,000 posts to date.
Both were relieved to return to their rightful places however, with warm welcome back hugs from EllieJP and Paul W respectively, and a renewed appreciation from all who used the site. And they all lived happy ever after.
THE END
*Some facts have been changed to protect the moderators' true identities.
In other words I think they do a great job!
JP (Yes, I'll go back to critique now)
I think they do a great job. Keep up the good work everyone!
I was married to one of them once but she left me for a real person But the mods do a good job. I disagree with Aaron now and again (see D. Rushmores leaving party for proof) but I like the fact the spelling is kept tight and trolls weeded out where necessary. I just wish Ellie's breasts weren't getting smaller. Bring back the BCG two I say.
They'll come back with a vengeance when she gets knocked up.

I predict a lot of messy lactating.
I <3 Mods
I think they do a fine job - witness the fact there no threads have been locked today and nobody has been banned. Good modding.

Thank you Mr Grace!
I would one again like to say they are actually good forum moderators. As I have gained quite a bit of it as a writer and I guess that may be partly due to them as someone says keeping it sane. Aaron does seem quite an interesting if slightly neurotic chap. Would like to meet him.
