The piece I submitted had to do with the oddities of our town and small things I've noticed. They want me to put a more nostalgic spin on things if I decide to do the column. The pay isn't great, but it's a small paper and it's my name on the by-line.

Yes, in a nutshell. We've found out that the neighbour who was hauled away for porn had a huge collection on multiple computers, Bud and Chrissy are trying for a baby (she told me this while drinking a Coors Light) and the guy who was hauled away was making meth with friends out in the country.
They actually want my column to be about some of the amusing historical facts about our town and people's memories. I have to submit more within the next few weeks so that they can make their final decision, but I guess it's pretty much a done deal.
