Final Draft

Sorry if there is already a thread about this software. If there is, please point me in the direction of it as I couldn't find one.

Who uses this software for writing?

If so, what version do you use? and how much did it cost you? Currently wondering whether to invest in it.

Thanks.

I've used it and could never really get on with it. Very buggy and American. Even though it does have BBC formats. I don't think that matters for us amateurs at the moment.

Now quick, point him in the right direction and lock this thread before any more opinions can be shared.

FD7 was buggy and kept crashing every time I tried to export from FD format into other formats. I've bought an FD8 upgrade but haven't tried it yet.

I'm sticking with Word for most projects.

I use it, bought is online. Use version 7.something. Does have the "w" glitch in the BBC Sitcom format, however (a spacing issue). Find it very easy to use and don't write with anything else. It's nice that you can create secure drafts as well, read-only script files. You may encounter some problems emailing FD files between PCs and Macs for some reason I can't explain.

>_< Doh! But I suppose it's backing up my post. So, I'll allow it.

I'm currently trying out Zhura. It's useful for me, as I can work on both the desktop PC and my laptop, without having to transfer files or the latest update. I just access the website. But that's the worst part about it. The free version is Online only.

JLC - just do a search for script formatting or Final Draft and use one of those threads to append your question. Using the forum Search facility (above) I found:
