Favourite Beatles songs Page 10

I take it all back. I'd only really heard the song for the first time a few weeks ago. It turns out that my stereos are f**ked up in my kitchen and all wasn't playing right, that's why I thought it was bad. I heard it again today from another device and yes, it is a good song.

Thank God you took that back and offered up a reasonable explanation because that song is truly wicked.

I never appreciated that song until I listened to it on acid, and now I really like it. The lyrics are very meaningful.

Laughing out loud I once read someone claiming (anonymously) that you cannot appreciate music of Pink Floyd unless you're high :)

Which probably would be the reason why I don't care for PF much :D

I never appriciated Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds until I played it having taken USD.

"I want to tell" you is great.

I want to tell you
I love that song, but when I played it to a friend who had never heard it, he was convinced that it was deliberately out of tune.

Another couple which I like but may not have been mentioned.

Wait.
Anytime at all.

Refer to whats on Tv to know my thoughts on this topic.:)

Interesting stuff about The Beatles on a fascinating blog on the origins (and covers) of songs. Turns out John Lennon's Merry Christmas (War Is Over) is apparently a rip-off of a song called Stewball (about a racehorse - and recorded by the Hollies).

'Yesterday'.

The Long and Winding Road

Did you experiment with a few cents first or did you splurge out on bills and have a full-blown trip? :)

Has anyone got hold of the remasters yet? Mono Stereo? And are they worth it?

I picked up the box set in HMV - then put it down. Then I picked it up again and put it down again. Don't know if I can justify £170.

I'm wetting my pants here, David. I want but I need to know if my ears will hear the difference. ** SlagA jiggles from one leg to another **

Mine probably won't. But it's a chance to get them all with some bonusses. I've only got about 5 of them. I've never actually heard the white album in its entirety or Beatles For Sale.

:O White Album is the most disjointed (due to its size and the various styles they were going into) but it is awesome. Abbey Road, Revolver, Rubber Soul, then the White Album are the cream of the crop. Possibly White Album creeping in over Rubber Soul, for me.

Beatles for Sale - the band sound shattered after all the touring but No Reply, Follow the Sun, and Every Little Thing are three gems. Lots of covers put me off buying this CD but I regretted not getting it sooner, once I had it.
