So I'm planning to try stand up in about 2-3 weeks. .
But once I've done it, then what?
Do I go back to the same place the next week or find somewhere else or what. .
Do you reckon they'll pay me on my 1st go? joke 
It's starting to seem like alot of hard work...harder then it did 30 seconds ago anyway..
Yeah it's hard work. Just go to the pub that's what I do.

Are you booked for the first gig, or is it just turn up on the night type thing?

Oh yeah. . . I do kinda need to book it...
maybe a bit longer then 2-3 weeks then. . . 
You need to normally book 3 months in advance, you won't get paid for your first gig, probably not for your first 50, you need to find places in your area that do open mics and phone them up.
