Attention all moon landing sceptics Page 6

IMO, we went to the moon.

But I do think it entirely possible that video and/or photographic specimens were recreated, in whole or in part, manipulated, or otherwise modified here. What reasons may be behind any such hypothetical edits is another matter.

(1) All the world's boffins who devoted their lives to the study of astronomy/cosmology etc such as Patrick Moore, Stephen Hawking, Sir Martin Rees etc were completely fooled

But how would being a great cosmologist make you less capable of being fooled? Does astronomy / cosmology make you an expert in the conditions of an alien world that we've all only experienced second-hand (apart from a handful of men)? Even a magician can be conned by slight of hand.

No one had been there, even with probes and fly-bys, they weren't sure what they were going to meet. And even now our knowledge of the planets is being turned over each time a new probe is sent out.

You'd also have to take out all the geological research and researchers that's been done on the dust and rocks that came from the moon.

Your still not even slightly answering my point on human fallibility.

The US government couldn't even plant one atomic bomb in post war Iraq.
And you think they could fake a moon landing? Governments are rarely as competent as people fear they are.

Yep, but the Russians also have moon rock and soil and they haven't been there.

If Americans have been to the Moon, how come there's no Starbucks on it?

As far as I understand it, the moon broke free from the earth's orbit 10 years ago and footage of it can be seen from time to time on some digital TV stations.

Nice cultural reference there Badge. But if that's the case where do SHADO base their interceptors?

UFO. Now!

If you were a fan of the Australian comedy film The Castle, you might enjoy The Dish, which was made by the same people but is a true story, all about how the moon landing footage broadcast around the world came from an Australian radio telescope and tracking station. Interesting, but not as many laughs as The Castle.

Just heard about Cronkite from a family member. He wrote a fantastic biography.

Of whom? Did he also write an autobiography?
:)

Lunar landing? An elaborate hoax would have been an easier option - and perfectly likely from a propoganda viewpoint.

*remains to be convinced*

Partly playing Devil's advocate and partly interested in the answers. As Sooty says, there are far bigger issues in the world.
:)
Re: the technology gap. The Russians got the first satellite, animal, man, woman, and space station into orbit despite a technology gap not existing. When the Americans got to the moon, the russian launch date was set for just a month later.

Are you asking why didn't the Soviets go to the moon if it were possible? That's easily explained.

The genius of the Soviet Space Programme - Sergey Korolyov died prematurely in 1966. A few years earlier an exploding rocket at the Baikonur launch site killed almost all of the best Soviet engineers and cosmologists. Their moon programme never recovered from these setbacks, but they probably would have still landed on the moon some time after 1970. The programme was cancelled by Brezhnev after the Apollo 11 as it no longer carried the same prestige.

Apollo deniers are just simply ignorant of the facts of these events. There is NO evidence to suggest the 'moon landings' were faked.

What about the strings? You can see the strings.
