I think Elmo made Gervais look better than he is. Still not a fan.
Thought the best line was from the woman off-screen - "Because that's your stand-up?".
He's not good. Far from good however, the material for that was rather good - not him.

Whether you like it or not everything he has done so far has been a success in most quarters. You said "He's not good, far from good", the above should tell you that although you may not think he's good, a shit load of people would disagree. I think he is just fantastic.

Right. Plus I really don't think it was the "material" Robert refers to that made that clip enjoyable. I might be wrong but I doubt anyone was working off a script there.

This thread needs rewording to 'Elmo is funny'. Elmo kicked ass.
I always thought Pilkington was just a clever device of Gervais' to get away with saying things that a 'normal' person couldn't get away with? For example, if Bernard Manning or Boardman were sat on the couch saying the same things, they'd have been lynched. But cute cuddly Karl? Never.
I like this clip. They are both equally funny.
